The Farman F 480 was a two-seater (one behind the other) monoplane with a parasol wing configuration reserved for both touring and training purposes. The French government acquired the 12 units produced for the training of its Armée de l’Air pilots. This 1:10 scale model has a 122 cm wingspan and a 76 cm length. You will noticed that the model is slightly different than the aircrafts built, because it is in fact the version intended to be equipped with a straight engine rather than a radial engine. This version with its long engine cowl will be discontinued because very few aircraft were built. This very fine technical and old piece is particularly interesting because of its markings that identify and authenticate it. |
